Tryout Details
Registration is officially closed, and we’re gearing up to kick off tryouts for this year’s Fury provincial ball hockey teams! We’re excited to welcome a talented and motivated group of athletes to the rink and can’t wait to see what you bring to the floor.
To ensure a fair and thorough selection process, each age group will participate in four tryout sessions. Please note:
🔹 Cuts will be made after Tryout #2 for U11, U13, and U15
🔹 Final rosters for all age groups will be selected after Tryout #4
All players are being evaluated by an independent team of high-caliber coaches and athletes from both ball and ice hockey backgrounds—ensuring an unbiased, performance-based process.
Evaluators will be looking at:
✅ Effective speed & endurance
✅ Skill set
✅ Hockey IQ
Players who are not selected for the final roster will receive individual feedback to support their continued development.
We know this process isn’t easy, and we’re committed to making it as respectful, transparent, and encouraging as possible. 💪

2025 Spring Tryouts
The Calgary Fury Ball Hockey Club plans to have at least one team for each age group (U9, U11, U13, U15, U18). All players must participate in tryouts. To be eligible, players MUST be registered in Calgary Superleagues Spring 2025 season and pay a non-refundable $25 try out fee. Registration and payment for Fury tryouts can be completed while registering for the Superleagues 2025 Spring Season.
Tryout dates are April 22 to May 2, 2025. All tryouts will be at Jack Setters Arena.
Tryout Schedule
The schedule is the same for each day of tryouts.
U9 → 5:00 - 6:00pm
U11 → 6:00 - 7:00pm
U13 → 7:00 - 8:00pm
U15 → 8:00 - 9:00pm
U18 → 9:00 - 10:00pm
Tryout 1:
April 22, 2025 - 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Tryout 2:
April 25, 2025 - 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Tryout 3:
April 29, 2025 - 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Tryout 4:
May 2, 2025 - 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Space is Limited!
$35 per player - No Buddy Requests.
Players with birth year 2009 - 2017 are eligible to register.
Guaranteed 3 games. All game are one 20 minute period.
Team rosters and schedules will be sent via TeamSnap by April 14, 2025.

Some games will be played on the big rink, so for this tournament only, we’re opening up spots for 15 & 16-year-olds (born in 2009 & 2010)! These players can also register for the YYC Ball Hockey Tournament on April 19.

All proceeds will go towards two national teams, Women's Div A United and Men's Div C Roosters. They are headed to the first ever SUPER Nationals hosted in Mississauga, ON!

50/50 at the tournament. Accept cash, e-transfer and credit cards. Draw will happen before the first bronze medal game.
