Hello Ball Hockey Families

The Calgary Fury Ball Hockey Club is the high-performance ball hockey club for Calgary youth ages 7 - 19. We are pleased to make the following announcement regarding this years' Provincial, Western Challenge Cup (WCC), and Junior Nationals tournaments.

The Alberta Minor Ball Hockey Association (AMBHA) will be hosting the 2024 Provincial Championship Tournament on June 28 - July 1, 2024 in Edmonton Alberta.

The Calgary Fury Ball Hockey Club will be holding try outs for all age groups (U9, U11, U13, U15, U18). To be eligible to try out, all players MUST be registered in Calgary Superleagues Spring season and pay a non-refundable $25 try out fee. The try out fee can be paid during Superleagues registration or in person at the first try out date.

Important Dates and Information:

Team practices occur twice weekly from May 7th - June 24th and will be held at Jack Setters Arena
The Provincial Tournament will be held June 28 - July 1, 2024 in Edmonton Alberta at the South Soccer Center
The Western Cup Challenge tournament will be held July 10-13, 2024 in Surrey (and surrounding area)
Junior National Tournament will be held in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan from July 23- July 27
Team rosters for the WCC and Junior National Tournaments will be determined by invitation for the age groups U15, U17, and U19
All potentially eligible players must be registered in Superleagues Spring season

The Calgary Fury Ball Hockey Club is a competitive organization which provides youth players an opportunity to participate in the provincial, western regional, and national tournaments.

The Calgary Fury Ball Hockey Club is a registered non-profit organization and is a member of the Alberta Minor Ball Hockey Association (AMBHA).

Ball Hockey is one of the longest standing and most popular indoor sports, so don’t miss your chance to deke out the competition, break-away from the pack and dangle your way to the League Championship.

Our Mission

The goal of Calgary Fury Ball Hockey Club is to provide a fun and safe environment for all participants to expand their skill, ability and knowledge of the great sport of ball hockey. We are partnering with dedicated men and women who play at the highest levels, to coach, teach and inspire our members, delivering skills and confidence that will serve them well on the hockey rink and beyond.

All coaches will be provided educational opportunities to broaden their knowledge of skill development, physical and mental fitness and well-being for their players, and concepts and strategies unique to the game of ball hockey.

Teams are selected from an evaluation process that will lend focus on broadening the skill set of all participants.

Players will receive demonstrations, instruction and guidance from the best ball hockey players in Calgary, including members of the National team who have represented Canada at the World Championships.

Evaluations will be conducted by male and female players in the ball hockey community, offering impartial assessments with a critical eye that recognizes talent and ability.

Everyone is encouraged and welcome to try out. Those selected to Fury will continue to be afforded the opportunity to learn, develop and grow with the understanding they are to be exemplary members who value hard work, dedication and most importantly- great sportsmanship. We strive to provide a fun and valuable experience for all Fury participants, that will shape them into better players and leaders of their community.

Last Year's 2023 Junior Nationals Tournament

2023's Junior Nationals Tournament was held in St. John's, NFLD July 26-29th, 2023.

Calgary Fury was proud to have 4 players represent U19 Team Alberta: Nikolas Stang, Owen Irwin, Joel Pivarnyik and James MacDonald. U19 Team Alberta had a strong showing at the tournament bringing home the A division Bronze Medal. Congratulations Boys!

Calgary Fury was also represented by Jesse Cordingley for the U17 Team Alberta. Jesse had an incredibly strong performance in net for U17 Team Alberta forcing the Bronze medal game to a overtime, unfortunately U17 Team Alberta were not able to score but Jesse was awarded Player of the Game for his amazing performance.

Lastly, Sydney Howard represented Calgary Fury playing for the Girls U16 Manitoba Monarchs. They also came just short of a Bronze Medal in a hard fought battle losing 3-2 to the Etobicoke Whalers. Calgary Fury is so proud of these players and their achievements at Junior Nationals! We cannot wait to see how many players will be given the opportunity to represent at the 2024 Junior Nationals Tournament to be held in Saskatoon, SK July 23-27, 2024.

FURY Nationals - Winnipeg 2022

Last tournament of the Fury season just wrapped up. We just want to take this opportunity and express our gratitude to so many volunteers that put countless hours to making this season one of the most successful for the Fury club! From the coaches and team managers, parents/family members/members of our ball hockey community, out of town Fury families stepping up to take care of many details and our incredible Fury board members. Thank you to all the parents supporting their children on this adventure, giving of their time and resources. And thank you to the players who never gave up, no matter what the obstacle was, showed good sportsmanship, encouraged each other and cheered loud and clear for different age Fury teams.

We will be having a Fury board meeting later this fall, so stay tuned if you'd like to get involved. Many hands make light work. :)

Also a special congratulations to our U19 team for the B pool silver medal! We also want to recognize our U17 team for their strong effort in a close loss in the B pool bronze medal.
